Hi

The link below has the install directions

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/22028.html

but the instructions talk about installing after the OS is up, the other way to create the driver disk is take this to another linux or any unix server unzip and get the files and then use dd to copy to floppy.Windows rawrite might work you can check on that.

Rgds

HGN

Is the installation still failing or is the installation going well, but the installed Linux not working?

How do you install? Please tell us:
- You setup Linux as OS in the BIOS?
- You configured the Smart Array from the 'BIOS'?
- You created driver diskettes for the array?
- You boot from CD
- Insert the driver diskette when asked
- And what happens next?

JP

I searched this forum (see top of the page, more options) for other threads on this subject. Thread http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=714147 suggests that using RH 3U3 for installation should work. It does not mention if a driver diskette is needed.

(By the way: I once had problems installing RH9 on a DL360. It had a strange problem with the CD: You boot from CD, and when the installation starts it asks you for the source, you say CD and it cannot find it. This was caused by a problem in the Linux kernel on the INSTALLATION CD. I mention this, because there is a difference between the kernel on the installation CD and the kernel on the installed system.)

Also check HGN's reply in that thread.
