      <description>Hi All&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Iam facing problems in conneting to a debian &lt;BR /&gt;linux server .The error is &lt;BR /&gt;Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused&lt;BR /&gt;But from the server I am able to connect to other server &lt;BR /&gt;All these days the same setup was working fine ..Can anybody help me in resolving this problem&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks&lt;BR /&gt;Binu</description>

      <description>Make sure you have the telnet daemon (in.telnetd) installed and running on your system.  Without this, you won't be able to telnet into the machine.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;As for telnet out of the box, i.e. to other system, the reason that works is that the other system probably has the telnet daemon running on it.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;As a side note, telnet is disabled for a reason, i.e. its very insecure.  Use SSH wherever possible in its place.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Hope this helps.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;-Santosh</description>
