Connecting to an ISP over a MODEM under Linux

Hi Folks;

All my web access has been on a T-3 link at
HP. Now I need to be able to do e-mail and
web access from home.

I've talk with the people at NETZERO
and although they didn't know anything
about Linux, they were able to give me
the hostname/IP of their mail server.

How do you do webbing? Do you just put
the hostname/IP of their proxy host in
the configuration file and away you go?

Is there a MANPAGE or INFO I can look at?

Hi tonyp,

If you need to setup a dial up link easy just try to install and configure KPPP. Its a KDE GUI tool which let you configure your internet dialup link as you where used to on a Windo$ system.

What hardware do you use? Not every modem can be used with Linux.

KPPP is the way to go.

The MANPAGE makes your head spin
with all the options!
