      <description>Hello,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I usually works with HP-UX and I don't know too much Linux so I can't find syslog file.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I read some information about there're some syslog files and they should be on /var/log/ directory.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Are syslog files into /var/log/ directory?&lt;BR /&gt;How're they called?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks in advance for your help.&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Carles&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi Carles,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;As you can see in /etc/syslog.conf, system messages are logged on differents files, depending of their subject.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Systeme messages are typically logged in /var/log/messages.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;Lionel&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If the syslogd daemon is running the syslog file will be created in /var/log directory and is called messeges ie /var/log/messeges&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you cant see the file there do :&lt;BR /&gt;service syslogd status and if it is not running do :&lt;BR /&gt;service syslogd start&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If still file is not there check /etc/syslog.conf to see is the path for syslog file has been changed.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Hope this helps&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Cheers&lt;BR /&gt;Vipul</description>
