Hi

A plain upgrade should work.

But it is always advisable to have a backup before you upgrade. If data is not required just backup the network/access files ..usually a full backup of /etc will cover that.

Cheers

Hi all,

I've been given the task of installing (or upgrading to) RH Enterprise 3. Box is currently running Red Hat Release 7.3 (Kernel 2.4.18-27.7.xbigmem). Compaq 686 w/ raid array.

No existing data has to be preserved, however: the system owners want the security / networking / access stuff to remain as currently configured.

I speak HP-UX, haven't dealt w/ Linux in years.

Is there a checklist or doc somewhere that would assist in documenting all the relevant info, or what files to examine (preserve?)?

Any assistance gratefully accepted.

Thx...Scott
