configure print server

Hi,
I'm running SUSE. (* what command to get version?)
I'm on x86 (* uname -m
Need to install a print server. I'm assuming CUPS. Where can I get installation and configuration docs?

Shalom Michael,

You are correct CUPS is the way to go.

Make sure iptables is not running or port 631 is not blocked.

There is a GUI for cups configuration that you should try to make this less painful.

Been here a while. Stuart Browne is still the master her, I just have more free time.

uname -a should give you the version of suse.

I've given you a number of alternatives and there is overlap. My only experience with cups is helping a friend with the gui and helping diagnose a firewall created problem. You know, why can't I print, I did cups right.

If ever there is a job that never gets to the queue, I suspect iptables.

CUPS is an option on some Linux distributions, and I have not the foggiest idea how to add it to Suse if you don't have it already.
