I have a HP DAT40 tape drive (model C5683A) and I can't write to it. I get Warning: Cannot close: Input/output error. I'm using fairly new dds4 tapes and it is a dds4 drive. I've tried multiple tapes and no luck. The drive has been cleaned several times. I have opened a case with HP to replace the drive but I figured I'd see if there was something I could do instead.

>> cat /proc/scsi/scsi
Attached devices:
Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 03 Lun: 00
Vendor: HP Model: C5683A Rev: C305
Type: Sequential-Access ANSI SCSI revision:
