Create populate System pPartition using kickstart

Hi All,

Steps description
-------------------
I am trying to create and populate Compaq System Partition(CSP) using
kickstart.
The 1st step ie create the partition is fine I just have an entry in the
kickstart file like this.
#part /compaq --fstype vfat --size=40 --start=1 --ondisk=cciss/c0d0
--asprimary

When I then boot using the SCU floppy disk the vfat partition is recognised
but the SCU stiil ask to create a system partition ??? I say Yes there are
allow all diagnostic files to be copied to the CSP.

The problems I have are.
(1) How can I create a CSP and populate it using kickstart not SmartStart of
disk floppy ?
(2) how can I copy diagnosti file to the CSP from a partition of type ex3

Any infos or pointers will be appreaciated.

Hi ,

I'm afraid you have to use Altiris Repid Deployment pack to do this. It also gives you the opportonity to configure the smart array before kickstarting.

The RDP gives you a framework to kickstart different profiles from remote (PXE boot) on Proliant from bare metal.

It is used widely on proliant blade servers , to manage server "images" for the different slots.
