I use the megaraid driver 1.18 and i find no answer in megaraid mailing list . In fact megaraid mailing list is mainly for hardware raid in dell computer (LSI raid). The Netraid 1M is AMI product, but can't find usefull tools for me at ami.com

I use HP TC4100 with netraid 1M; 1 array raid 5 with 5 scsi HD 18 GO under woody debian. No pb. But i can't monitor the array . I can't find tools.
I've tried megaraid list (dell computiong); AMI support .. and HP support... no monitorign tools.
The question is : is it possible to monitor some Netraid 1M functions with SMART tools; 'smartmontools' by instance. I just want to known if 1 disk of the array is broken and if the Hot spare disk is in used (without shuting down the server and using the Ctrl M functions ....)

I'm using a Dell PE4600, but it uses a similar RAID card (LSI Megaraid 3/DC). Are you using the aacraid driver (do a lsmod)? If so, the driver should be logging any array events to your syslog.

Also check out Matt Domsch's wonderful Linux web page:

http://www.domsch.com/linux/

He has a section devoted to LSI Megaraid drivers, firmware and software, including monitoring apps.
