topic /opt deleted by third party installer in Operating System - Linux

We have lost /opt courtesy of a third party installer. To compound the problem we don't have a backup of it. We do have the option of copying /opt from another server, but I don't want to further compromise the knackered server.

Any advice gratefully recieved (apart from doing backups..we know that already!)

Thanks
