    <description>Assuming youre just updating packages within the same release (i.e. RHEL4), then there's no issue.  The update process is designed to be able to update without issue.  Just use 'up2date' if you can, otherwise ensure you using 'rpm -U' for everything other than a kernel.</description>

      <description>yes we do the "update" process for all packages. But use -i(install) for the kernel package.</description>
