Hi All,

My redhat linux 7.2 is running on a Compaq server. I use the below command to create a bootable floppy disk:
# mkbootdisk `uname -r`
But the server can't boot from this floppy disk.

When I boot from floppy disk, The following prompt display:
--------------
Press <RETURN> (or wait 10 seconds) to boot your Red Hat Linux system from
/dev/cciss/c0d0p3. You may override the default linux kernel parameters by typing
"linux <PARAMS>", followed by <RETURN> if you like.
boot:
-----------------
I can't boot the machine after press <RETURN> key.

Anyone here can give me a hand ?

Thanks</RETURN></RETURN></PARAMS></RETURN>

Thanks for your input. I am sure the 'kernel version' parameter is correct when running mkbootdisk command.

What actually happens when you press <RETURN> ?

Incidentally, you shouldn't need to type 'linux', you should just be able to press 'return'.</RETURN>
