I have a blade server (DL 460c G4) in my premises which runs RHEL ES 4.5

It's getting hanged after a time interval. I can ping the server but from iLO, ssh, telnet, ftp can't establish connection.

I have also some other server running same OS in another blade servers.

What would be the root cause to hanged continuously?

hi,

i would start to check :

HW - check ( offline diagnostic )

yoou have more blades like this ??

same configuration ???

same firmware ??

same patches and updates on the Linux ???

them on the system layout :

i would recommend to check logs

if you have some monitoring, the exact time when the server stop to responding, what kind of load was there ....

in this situation its very important to get/collect all data that you can after hang/crash of the system.

mikap
check the network speed setting on the server as well as on the port. They have to be matched, otherwise the connection may just like you described.
