    <description>Hi All,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have extended my LV(root filesystem LV) and now I want to increase the root filesystem.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I came to know that I have to use ext2online command to increase the filesystem but I could not able to see that command in my machine.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;[root@bhlbmw03 ~]# ext2online&lt;BR /&gt;-bash: ext2online: command not found&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Is there any other way we can increase the root filesytem after extending LV.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I am using RHEL LVM.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;[root@bhlbmw03 ~]# lvdisplay /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00&lt;BR /&gt;  --- Logical volume ---&lt;BR /&gt;  LV Name                /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00&lt;BR /&gt;  VG Name                VolGroup00&lt;BR /&gt;  LV UUID                SoAxkt-ZcDZ-kovq-0NpB-0odg-Y4gx-EYHzex&lt;BR /&gt;  LV Write Access        read/write&lt;BR /&gt;  LV Status              available&lt;BR /&gt;  # open                 1&lt;BR /&gt;  LV Size                88.12 GB&lt;BR /&gt;  Current LE             2820&lt;BR /&gt;  Segments               2&lt;BR /&gt;  Allocation             inherit&lt;BR /&gt;  Read ahead sectors     auto&lt;BR /&gt;  - currently set to     256&lt;BR /&gt;  Block device           253:0&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;[root@bhlbmw03 ~]# df -h /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00&lt;BR /&gt;Filesystem            Size  Used Avail Use% Mounted on&lt;BR /&gt;-                     3.9G   84K  3.9G   1% /dev&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Found that the following packages are already there in my machine&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;[root@bhlbmw03 ~]# rpm -qa | grep e2fsprogs&lt;BR /&gt;e2fsprogs-libs-1.39-20.el5&lt;BR /&gt;e2fsprogs-devel-1.39-20.el5&lt;BR /&gt;e2fsprogs-1.39-20.el5&lt;BR /&gt;e2fsprogs-libs-1.39-20.el5&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;What package I have to install to get ext2online utility?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Please help in this regard?</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Parted can do it. It has a number of GUI frontends: the most popular is Gparted.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Shrink the big partition, making sure the space you free is next to the rot partition, and then increase the size of the root partition.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;TAKE BACK-UPS OF EVERYTHING UP FIRST &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Check man pages of parted&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Cheers//&lt;BR /&gt;Taifur</description>
