NetBackup Installation Steps

Hi Experts,

I want to install the veritas Netbackup software in the Linux Systems.
The veritas netbackup has already installed on Windows which are the Master/Slave and media servers.
I need to configure one Linux System just to take the backup.
Can you help me how to install the software and what are the recommended patches to install after the installation of software.
I have already gone through the manuals for the installation steps but i need to know should i need to install the client software steps? Kindly recommend me and also provide me the shortcut steps.

The media servers and the baremetal servers are using 6.5.3 version of netbackup.

Hi,

After installing the Netbackup, have to do some patching right.
May i know what are the recommended patches at initial setup and to which level.
Where can i download those patches?

search for "NetBackup"

I am no 100% sure but you should have some customer ID to be able download the products and pathes.

HI All,
I have installed the Netbackup client software and also patches in the Linux Systems but when i look for this client on the Veritas Netbackup Administration console there i am unable to see.

May i know what is the reason?

hi,

in the administration console is only :

master server - ( its also media / client )

media server(s) - that see the tape(s)

normal client is not showing up.

We have defined the policy in Veritas Netbackup console and now we are able to see the client in the administration console.
