Hi Alexander,

Thanx for your reply. Please cpnfirm me one thing, does this procedure confirms that there will be no data loss as my node is a business critical node?

Secondly, what are the other precautions we can take before these activities?

Rgds-Kranti

Dear all,

I am having a ML350 G4 with one disk of 146 GB only. At present this server is using as a business critical node. I like to add one more disk on it and want to make an soft raid/mirror for the disk availability. Is it possible to add another disk with the existing disk and soft mirrored them without any kind of data modification or alteration?

Rgds-Kranti

You will have to modify a few things:
http://www.linuxconfig.org/Linux_Software_Raid_1_Setup

Hi Kranti.

One thing you will have to do (and it answers the second question) - backup all the important information prior "playing" with the system.

If you follow the instruction and make no confusion between the source and the destination - there should be no data loss.
