topic HP Proliant BL25P switch config in Operating System - Linux

We have to configure some vlans on a linux box running rhel4 (which is part of a BL25P- Proliant) I think this involves changing the switch config, have anyone worked these type os servers before and shed some light? I have the ip's that i need to entered in vlan.conf and route info, but it looks like i would need to configure some ports on this Proliant switch, Please help.

Thanks

Mike.

Well you need to configure which vlans are available on the port in the switch.

What kind of switch do you have?

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12331_div/12331_div.HTML#Standard Features

Looks like it has SSH and it supports "port-based IEEE 802.1Q tagged VLANs".
