    <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;What is your linux distrib ?&lt;BR /&gt;It change from each distrib...&lt;BR /&gt;There is two things:&lt;BR /&gt;-first verify /etc/securetty in case you want to log in using root&lt;BR /&gt;-if red-hat check /etc/xinetd.d/telnet and change "disable = yes" to "disable = no" and&lt;BR /&gt;then restart xinetd: /etc/rc.d/init.d/xinetd stop and then start&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Cheers.</description>

      <description>verify whether the telnet server is installed:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# rpm -qa | grep telnet-server&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you get no output then it isn't installed.&lt;BR /&gt;but if it is, edit the file /etc/xinetd.d/telnet&lt;BR /&gt;and change the line 'disabled = yes' in 'disabled = no'. Then restart the xinetd demon:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# service xinetd restart.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;this should be enough.       <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;To configure remsh (rsh in linux) you must do similar configuration than HP-UX, edit /etc/hosts.equiv file and add the HP-UX box.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Frank.</description>
