Hi everybody
I??ve got a LH4r with an Adaptec 2940UW.
I??ve installed Suse SLES7. But there is no chance to make the 2940 work. If i try insmod aic7xxx
i get the message

dmesg says

I??ve tried this with SLES8 to and i get the same error.
In a PC with the 2940 there is no problem to load the module.
We got a LH6000r with the 2940 too. Also with SLES 7. There were no problem to load the module.
Is this a known problem with the LH4?

I'm unaware of an issue. Do these for us please:

lspci
lsmod
cat /proc/scsi/scsi

With these details, we'll be able to get a better idea of what's going on.

That seems Linux OS can't get correct MMIO
to use, you can try to change BIOS setup item of "MMIO" set as 32MB or 64MB and make sure the "Software Memory Hole" is set as Enabled.
I think it will work normal.
