    <description>&lt;P&gt;&amp;gt;error while loading shared libraries: /usr/bin/libsqlplus.so: ELF file data encoding not little-endian&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;What does "file /usr/bin/libsqlplus.so" show?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;gt;is there any way I can copy these across and reload them to overcome this issue?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Why not copy them over?&amp;nbsp; What you have is useless now.&amp;nbsp; Does file(1) show anything better?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I am running RHEL 5 and have installed sqlplus on a remote client in order to connect to an oracle db (on same vlan).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;rpm -hiv oracle-instantclient11.2-sqlplus-11.2.0.3.0-1.i386.rpm&lt;BR /&gt;Preparing...&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; ########################################### [100%]&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; 1:oracle-instantclient11.########################################### [100%]&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;But when I run an ldd I get the following:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;# ldd /usr/bin/sqlplus&lt;BR /&gt;/usr/bin/sqlplus: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/bin/libsqlplus.so: ELF file data encoding not little-endian&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;When I attempt to connect to the db:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;# sqlplus username/passowrd@ip_address:port/SSID&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; #substituted with my own credentials&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;sqlplus: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/bin/libsqlplus.so: ELF file data encoding not little-endian&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have the correct libs on the db server is there any way I can copy these across and reload them to overcome this issue?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;R,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;D.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Thanks for the feedback.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have successfully installed the oracleclient and connected to the db - used a different version in the end (downgraded to 10_2_ and it worked fine).&lt;/P&gt;</description>
