      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Unfortunately your modem is a "SoftModem". Specs available at manufactures web site &lt;A href="http://www.aztech.com.sg/spec/spec_56k3880.htm" target="_blank"&gt;http://www.aztech.com.sg/spec/spec_56k3880.htm&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The vendor doesn't support it on Linux.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;To give you a better understanding of what a SoftModem or "WinModem" is, have a look at this site.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="http://www.idir.net/~gromitkc/winmodem.html#faq" target="_blank"&gt;http://www.idir.net/~gromitkc/winmodem.html#faq&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;There is a beta driver for your softmodem's chipset, it might be worth looking into before buying a linux compatible modem.
