cmascsid: ignoring tape devices?

Hello,

Is it possible to configure the cmascsid snmp agent so that it ignores tape device files?

The system is running Redhat 5.3 and (hopefully) Oracle Secure Backup. The problem is that OSB attempts to open the device (/dev/sg0) for its exclusive use, but cmascsid is polling the device every 15 seconds and causing OSB to fail with a device busy error.

I can see this by turning on auditing and setting a watch on the tape device files:

# aureport -k
Key Report
===============================================
# date time key success exe auid event
===============================================
1. 10/22/2009 15:13:22 tape-access yes ? 69058 7745
2. 10/22/2009 15:13:26 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7746
3. 10/22/2009 15:13:41 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7747
4. 10/22/2009 15:13:44 tape-access yes ? 69058 7748
5. 10/22/2009 15:13:48 tape-access yes ? 69058 7749
6. 10/22/2009 15:13:56 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7750
7. 10/22/2009 15:14:11 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7751
8. 10/22/2009 15:14:26 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7752
9. 10/22/2009 15:14:41 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7753
10. 10/22/2009 15:14:56 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7754
11. 10/22/2009 15:15:11 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7755
12. 10/22/2009 15:15:26 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7756
13. 10/22/2009 15:15:41 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7757
14. 10/22/2009 15:15:56 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7758
15. 10/22/2009 15:16:11 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7759
16. 10/22/2009 15:16:26 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7760
17. 10/22/2009 15:16:41 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7761
18. 10/22/2009 15:16:56 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7762
19. 10/22/2009 15:17:11 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7763
20. 10/22/2009 15:17:26 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7764
21. 10/22/2009 15:17:41 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7765
22. 10/22/2009 15:17:56 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7766
23. 10/22/2009 15:18:11 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7767
24. 10/22/2009 15:18:26 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7768
25. 10/22/2009 15:18:41 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7769
26. 10/22/2009 15:18:56 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7770
27. 10/22/2009 15:19:11 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7771
28. 10/22/2009 15:19:26 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7772
29. 10/22/2009 15:19:41 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7773
30. 10/22/2009 15:19:42 tape-access yes /bin/mt 69058 7774
31. 10/22/2009 15:19:56 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7775
32. 10/22/2009 15:20:11 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7782
33. 10/22/2009 15:20:26 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7783
34. 10/22/2009 15:20:41 tape-access yes /opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/storage/bin/cmascsid -1 7784

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Rgds,

John
