      <description>you can use current ext3 file system's abilities, i.e permissions for: user, group, others.&lt;BR /&gt;As for ACL as you know it in Windows-there's still no such thing, but in next kernel generation (perhaps in 2.6) there will be- so they say.&lt;BR /&gt;By the way there's no difference in setting permission on LVM or the regular partitions.&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi !&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The fact that you use LVM doesn' make any difference as far as access control is concerned.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;As for access control, you have several ways :&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;- define rights as usual (rwx, ask if you want more details)&lt;BR /&gt;- set up firewalling rules, with netfilter for example (&lt;A href="http://www.netfilter.org" target="_blank"&gt;http://www.netfilter.org&lt;/A&gt; ), once again ask if you want details.&lt;BR /&gt;- Use the acl patch to your kernel &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/rawhide/1.0/i386/RedHat/RPMS/acl-2.2.3-3.i386.html" target="_blank"&gt;http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/rawhide/1.0/i386/RedHat/RPMS/acl-2.2.3-3.i386.html&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You have set up details here&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="http://acl.bestbits.at/" target="_blank"&gt;http://acl.bestbits.at/&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Once again ask if required.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;hth&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;J</description>
