I'm hoping someone here will be able to help.

We run HP ICE for Linux and I've taken over the implementation mid-stream from another tech. I want to use Nagios to send alerts when things break. So far I've got 4 systems working well and showing OK status most of the time.

From time to time I get "Warning: Data is Stale" and have no idea why or how to fix that.

The biggest problem I have though, is one of the servers being monitored (running CentOS 5.2 x 64bit) Keeps showing the following error on the syslog:

MOND: Got signal Segmentation fault...sleeping

I've verified the hosts in the mon.conf WRT allowed_hosts and I can't find any other errors. No checks for this host succeed and I'm about ready to just accept I can't monitor this host at all. That won't go over well with the uppers so I'm asking here for any help.

We are running ICE v 2.00.01 under SIM 5.2 sp2.

Shalom,

It looks with the very thin error data you provided that the software MOND is crashing, stopping data collection. Have you tried patching the system? Perhaps a new version will solve the problem.

Also removal and re-installation of the effected software might help.

SEP

Hello Peter,

There was a mond segmentation fault issue that was fixed in ICE-Linux V2.10. Would you be able to upgrade to V2.10 and see if that solves the problem?

Thank you.

Rigoberto
