iLo Java Integrated Remote Console (Java IRC) on Ubunu Linux

I recently switched to Ubuntu Linux and one problem I had was using the Java Integrated Remote Control Console (JAVA IRC) in iLo. I would go to remote console, click on webstart and download the iLo-jirc.jnlp file but couldn't use it.

I installed icedtea-netx based on some posts I found on running JAVA applets but all I would get was a blank screen when starting the jnlp file.

I found an article on Reddit that said icedtea doesn't work with iLo and to uninstall it and use the Oracle JDK 1.8x. I found the JDK file at https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html

The file is jdk-8u192-linux-x64.tar.gz. Simply download it, run "tar zxvf jdk-8u192-linux-x64.tar.gz" or let the archive manager do it for you.

Download the iLo-jirc.jnlp file to jdk1.8.0_192/bin

Then cd to jdk1.8.0_192/bin and execute

./javaws iLo-jirc.jnlp.

Accept the security warnings and the familiar remote management console will open. The only difference I have noticed is that it doesn't the player controls at the bottom.

its not clear what issue you have, still screen is balnk ? check with different version.
