      <title>Sendmail problem</title>

      <description>We use sendmail to send out the mail , but sometimes some mails was disappeared in our system, these mails will be sent out when the system reboot , but I can't find these mails in webmin -- &amp;gt; server -- &amp;gt; sendmail configuration -- &amp;gt; mail queue (mailq) , so I think the mail is stored in the linux system , can suggest how to check what mails are stored in the system or pending to sendout ? thx</description>

      <description>mailq&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;That shows mails that can't get off the box.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;sendmail -v -d8 -d38 someone@yahoo.com&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Type some text.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;ENTER&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;ENTER&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;This will get you diagnostics.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Here is my mailq output.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/var/spool/mqueue is empty&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Your's cant be if after boot you are getting mails flying out.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;There is a mail log in /var&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Check it.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/ENTER&gt;&lt;/ENTER&gt;</description>

      <description>hi &lt;BR /&gt;ur question is not clear.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;u tried mailq and there is no pending mails&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;but when u reboot the server, these mails are being sent? am i getting it right?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;is it that you are having a mail relay and the relay is delaying the sending of severs.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;if there is some output in mailq, you can send them using this command. see snipped lost below.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;$ cat 075.lost &lt;BR /&gt;:&lt;BR /&gt;####[ GNU/Linux One Stanza Tip (LOST) ]#######################&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Sub : Sending pending mail in queue                  LOST #075&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Sendmail did mot manage to send few mails during the last time&lt;BR /&gt;you despatched mail, and mailq command shows them  spooled. To&lt;BR /&gt;send out pending mail in mail queue, as root do: #sendmail -q&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;####[bish (at) nde.vsnl.net.in]###############################&lt;BR /&gt;:&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>In which case you wouldn't have a /etc/mail/submit.cf and thus not have a /var/spool/clientqueue/ ...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Ok, ignore me now *nod* :)</description>
