I was just reminded there is also a very informative video that discusses the 12.X to 15.X licensing changes you may want to review - https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/videoDisplay?videoId=vtc00040067en_us

Hello.

We decided to buy several HPE Serviceguard for Linux x86 licenses for a remote division.

We were thinking - what the HPE SGLX Enterprise X86 Media contains - the basic version (for example A.12.80.00) or the latest up-to-date one (for example A.12.80.05)? Should I include the media in the order?

Best regards, YA.

HI. The 12.X media comes in 3 varieties Base, Advanced, and Enterprise. The rpm's contained in each variety is discussed in the Release Notes. The media should match the license that you purchase, so if you purchase a Base license, get Base media. If the site does not have a good way to download the ISO's from the https://myenterpriselicense.hpe.com/ site then you should probably consider shipping media as well.

12.80.05 is a Patch Release and there is no media available for that one. It is only available as a tarball via download from the above site. Your customer will need a valid support identifier to access the patches. To apply the patch you need the underlying Minor Update Release already installed (for example 12.80.00) and the tarball for 12.80.05 can be unpacked and installed on top of 12.80.00 only. 12.80.05 does not contain the complete software.

As a side note, SGLX 15.X is now released and it WILL require a new license that must be purchased so you may want to consider starting with SGLX 15 instead of 12 otherwise when you upgrade to 15 from 12 an additional license purchase will be required. You should discuss the details with a qualified HPE sales reprsentative as I cannot really advise you there. I just wanted to make you aware of it as you may not want to have to buy licenses twice. The licensing has changed with 15.X and it no longer uses the Base, Advanced, Enterprise versions. See this manual for a bit more information - https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=sd00002305en_us&page=GUID-34467194-1765-4EF9-B02F-FDB22667C57D.html
