Ok it looks like I am close to getting this amanda backup working. I can backup all my drives except sdb1 which is '/'.(root)

I keep getting an error saying the disk is maybe offline. Has anyone seen this before. Why does amanda not want to backup /.

See error below:

more log.20030717.3
START planner date 20030717
INFO planner Adding new disk pompano.ihs-inc.com:sdb1.
INFO planner Adding new disk localhost:/etc.
START driver date 20030717
START taper datestamp 20030717 label DUMP000 tape 0
FAIL planner localhost /etc 0 [localhost NAK: amandad busy]
FAIL planner pompano.ihs-inc.com sdb1 0 [disk sdb1 offline on pompano.ihs-inc.com?]
FINISH planner date 20030717
WARNING driver WARNING: got empty schedule from planner
STATS driver startup time 1.033
INFO taper tape DUMP000 kb 0 fm 0 [OK]
FINISH driver date 20030717 time 6.554
Hi Robert,

It seems to me that what is worrying is the amandad busy message : it shows that you amanda process doesn't kill itself before processing another request.

Sounds stupid but... try rebooting before backing up... In fact, amanda is known to have this kind of 'non self killing' trouble, don't know why...

Hope it solves...

J
