service guard VS. redhat cluster manager

Hi,

I need to decide between using Hp service guard and redhat cluster suit on proliant DL380 servers running redhat enterprise linux V. 3.0, the shared storage is an HP EVA3000 box with secure path V. 3.0.

EVA 3000 specification indicates that EVA supports clustering with MC serviceguard for linux, and redhat cluster suit is not mentioned.

Have any one tried cluster manager with EVA3000 and securepath ?

I've had the opportunity to play with both your options, though not with an HP EVA3000 storage array.

My nod is that Serviceguard is better, primarily because of HP support. Its a better support organization when there are issues.

Hi,
i am using HPUX, service guard and EVA3000.
it may be more expensive compare to Linux. we also have some Linux boxes running AS,ES V.3.0
Steven is right, HP support is the best(compare with Oracle,Redhat and some other third party vendors) to me RedHat support is not upto this professional level yet!.
Just an opinion.

Hi,

I have tried using both, Redhat cluster suite as well as ServiceGuard and ServiceGuard is far far better than red hat cluster suite, infact there are a lot of known issues in Redhat.

You cant totaly trust on Redhat cluster suite and infact Redhat is promoting HP-Serviceguard.
