Dear Linux user,

If you are looking after internationalizing dates, here is a paper which can interest you:

It presents the current daytime in four different format:

1/ RFC822

2/ IMAP

3/ JALAALI (in use in Iran)

4/ HIJRI (Islamic calendar)

The code is C based and use the LC_TIME locale.

Since then the Japanese, official Indian, Chinese and Hebrew dates have been added. This is in case you need to internationalize a date according to local idiom, culture and traditions.
