Hi Raf,

In asking the community they suggested simply applying what is here to a Synergy (blade) server environment

https://github.com/RHsyseng/OSP-HPE.

I will see if Red Hat has any advice.

Thank you,
Marc

For almost 20 years, HPE and Red Hat have worked closely together to test products and develop services customers have come to know and trust. The next evidence in our close partnership is here. I am excited to share the latest reference architecture paper is now available: Deploying Red Hat OpenStack Platform 10 on HPE ProLiant DL servers.

This reference architecture leverages the latest Red Hat OpenStack Platform on HPE Gen9 rack (DL) servers. The configuration includes eleven rack mounted servers: one RHOSP director, three RHOSP controllers, four RHOSP compute nodes, and three Red Hat Ceph Storage nodes with two top of rack switches – one used for management and one used for networking.

The solution design is intended to create a highly available platform with built-in redundancy. Specific details are provided regarding the director, network configuration, VLAN configuration, aggregation and bonding, splitting up the 40 Gigabit port, link aggregation, and assigning interfaces and VLAN. Installation and configuration instructions for deploying the pieces of the Red Hat OpenStack Platform 10 on the eleven nodes is provided. This is followed by post deployment and validation after which deploying an instance using a heat template is discussed.

The configuration combines the collective experience of HPE OpenStack hardware and Red Hat OpenStack deployments. While your environment and requirements may differ, HPE and Red Hat believe there is a tremendous amount to gain from leveraging this reference architecture as a sound foundation for your OpenStack deployments.

Both HPE and Red Hat are excited for the roadmap ahead that includes reference architectures for Ansible, Ceph, and more. Happy configuring!

For up to date information follow us on Twitter or on our web site.

Hello,

Does a same reference architecture exist but for BL(ade) based servers and FC/iSCSI SAN based storage?

Regards

Raf

Hello Raf,

Our goal is to update with Synergy, but it will take a while to free up equipment to run this.

In the mean time let me ask our internal community if they have done anything.

Thank you,

Marc
