Error Observed during migration of pgp command

gpg: decryption failed: secret key not available

Looks like this the reason is because when you encrypt something with your private key, it can only be decrypted with your private key.

Is my understanding correct??

What, exactly, are you doing, with what, on
what? As usual, showing actual commands with
their actual output can be more helpful than
vague descriptions or interpretations.

uname -a
gpg --version
gpg [...]

Normally, one encrypts something using a
public key, and decrypts it using the
corresponding private key, but it can be done
the other way around. My psychic powers are
too weak to tell me what you're trying to do,
or how you're trying to do it.
