I have asked this particular question previously when talking to people at HP's marketing, the questions become:

1.Which Linux,

2. How much can we charge for an application on a free Operating System.

Until these questions are answered, I doubt an HP version of Glance would ever be developed much less released or marketed.

Clearly It is a financial question, what would it take to be worth HP's money, and what is the financial return.

Tim

I doubt it. You may get bits and pieces of glance functionality for Linux but not the whole thing. Did you try searching ..
http://rpmfind.net
ie the Linux rpc resources. They are a lot of rpm package in there and if you spend some time you may find what you need. For example there is a package called "diskcheck" (used to monitor disk space) and depending on your Linux distribution, you can download and install them for your use. I have not look in detail for anything resembling glance.

as for GUI interfaces you could use some of the following (Using Red Hat Linux)

Gnome system monitor
Guname (system information)
KControl (control center)
KDE System Guard

NOTE: I did note about that glance plus now runs under Linux but the above are also very useful and easy to use.
Glance appears to be free (unlike MeasureWare). If you want something a bit more serious to monitor Linux + HP-UX plus 'other' platforms on a console basis, then I use PerfCap PAWZ product (www.perfcap.com). At least I can now do performance analysis + capacity planning. Linux collector and agent is pretty reasonable. I use it on c 500 systems worldwide, including Linux (on VMware).

regards

pos
