Hi

We have a Oracle 11i Database cluster installed on an Active passive mode and we want to write scripts to have it added onto as a cluster resource so that when the cluster moves from active node to passive it should start the Database and the listener.

Regards
Sandeep

Shalom Sandeep,

Options:

1) Oracle clustering software normally takes care of this when the passive node becomes active. The entire point of clustering software is that when the primary node goes down, the database software and listener start up. Normally no script customization is required.

2) You could use Red Hat Cluster suite. In this mode when the active node goes off line a database startup script is executed on the passive node, which brings up the floating ip address, listener and database.

SEP
