rdesktop no longer works against Windows XP

I just patched up my Windows desktop about 2 weeks ago with their patch o' the week, and since then, I've not been able to use rdesktop from Fedora 11 to connect to that desktop.

Anyone else having/have had this issue on Fedora or Redhat or other Linii?

What is the error that you are getting.
Can you provide the error message.
How about telnet/ping ... are they working to the remote machine ?

hi,

one question, check the firewall if its enabled, some patches from MS are enabling it during patches.

I've seen microsoft updates trip the firewall on XP before.

Try windows to windows rdp and confirm that its a firewall issue.

Wow, Steven your advice was correct, but I wonder if it was for the right reason. :-)

It seems that all I needed to do was use the remote desktop from a Windows system, and the Linux "rdesktop" tool started working after I logged off from the new Windows client login.

It seems to just have been confused somehow.
