Hi.
I'm trying to setup SUSE Linux Enterprise 9 Service Pack 4 on a DL380 G6 server, but it's not possible. This operating system doesn't appear in SmartStart CD menus. The o.s. cd's are not able to startup the server. It works perfectly for DL380 G5 or G4 but not for G6. Does anybody know if this release of linux is not compatible with server version? Anything else to try?

Shalom,

The smart CD/DVD long since dropped this installation method.

You need to check with HP what versions of Suse are supported on the G6. Only recent updates are supported in general for Linux.

You probably can instal SUSE Enterprise 9 Linux but you will need a more recent service pack.

SUSE 9 support is dropped from SmartStart. Now only SLES10 & SLES11 support is available with Smart Start.
