      <description>hi&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;We're using Backup Exec 12.0 For Windows Servers and we have backuped the whole linux using RALUS. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Howto restore (1:1 copy) the whole linux on other machine (the same hardware) ?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Should I setup first a default linux installation and try to restore using  Backup Exec ?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;What about partitions ?&lt;BR /&gt;We would like to have the same partitions on other server.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>&amp;gt;&amp;gt; Howto restore (1:1 copy) the whole linux on other machine?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Suppose you have 2 hard disks /dev/sda and /dev/sdc.  The drive sda has the GNU/Linux install/OS+data.  Do a 'dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/sdc' and you get an exact copy od disk sda on sdc, partitions and all data.  Ensure that the destination drive is of the same size or bigger than the source.&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>the problem is, we cannot switch off the running system or boot using any boot device.</description>
