Every time I open theh JRE test web site, all mozilla windows close immediately!
--> Java option is enabled on mozilla side.

Apart from that, how is it possible to run IE on RHEL5 server???

I want to connect from my RHEL5 server to another RHEL5 server and map a virtual DVD to that server.

Shalom,

The OS on the system has no bearing on ilo setup.

You need java on the system connecting to the ilo device and it usually works better with IE, not mozilla.

To get full access to the console, you must activate the license. The system may have shipped with a license number, otherwise you'll need to buy one for $150. Otherwise its text only access.

SEP

Download the java<VERSION> .bin file you need, I use jave 1.5 with iLO2. Follow the instructions on the Java site on how to install the .bin

once installed go into the java directory, and cd to plugin/i386/ns7.

do an ls you should see a file there called libjavaplugin_oji.so

On the RHEL5 system I just looked at, RH installs firefox under /usr/lib/firefox-<VERSION> under the firefox directory there is a directory called plugins

You need create a soft link of libjavaplugin_oji.so into the plugin directory under firefox. (I normally just create a soft link, I think you can copy the file instead).

Once you have done this, launch firefox and enter about:plugins in the address bar, it should now show your java plugin installed

</VERSION></VERSION>

Jimmy,

I went through all steps. Everything seems to qork fine. See attachment.

BUT: When I open the iLO interface --> Remote Console (Java Applet), I only have the console, but without connection to my remote RHEL 5???

I've occasionally seen an issue with java 1.6, drop back to v1.5

I've also seen iLO get in a hung state in remote console when your having problems as it thinks someone is already using the remote feature.

When you start the remote (java applet) session you should get 3 java warning boxes, say yes to all 3
