Hi,

You might know what OO is, but I don't. The lack of replies suggests others don't either !

Cheers,

Rob

security is not an issue here... only the permormance and stability is the main concern.

So any one here who knows about the performance issue OpenOffice 2.3.1, then please share, as i have to provide OO 2.3.1 to 100 users.

i can't see any difference between previous versions of OOo, memory or performance wise.
it can be slow, sure, it can take up a lot of memory too. there are some small tuning params and the use (or non-use) of java in certain places can help too.
Thanks Dirk Dierickx
>it can be slow, sure, it can take up a lot of memory too. there are some small > tuning params and the use (or non-use) of java in certain places can help too.

if you can please share those performance tunning parameters, that can accelerate the performance of OO.

Regards

Shalom,

There have been ugly performance issues with every version of Open Office I've used from version 1.0 to 2.3.

Currently I find 2.2 to be the most stable and possible to work with.

SEP

Thanks SEP
is there any specific reason for that, I mean why OO performs slow, and consume memory a lot ? even though OO 2.3 is not a M$ Product ;).

Infect I have to install OO 2.3 on a Linux Server, that will serve as ThinClient Server, and almost 100 users will connect(get session) from this Thinclient Server(running Linux OS).

Please help me if there are some good/reliable performance tuning tips for OO 2.3

Regards
