password... handling when connecting from windows box mail client

hi all,

I have configured Qmail on a fedora box , and when iam trying to connect to the accounts created on this linux box... through a windows mail client configured on thunderbird.. it is giving an error saying "password authentication failed" while the very same account iam able to connect properly from a mail client "evolution" on linux box...., what can the reason

I'm not familiar with the "evolution" mail client. However, I would check the account settings in "Thunderbird" and compare them to the "Evolution" settings.

From Thunderbird click "Tools" -> "Account Settings" -> "Server setttings" for your email account. Check the Server Name, User Name, Port, and Security settings. Try comparing them to the ones in your "evolution" client.
