Image Capture causes server restart

We have RDP 3.1 installed on a Windows 2003 server. We are attempting to capture images from SUSE Linux 10 Enterprise edition.

Each time we do an image capture it is causing the server to shutdown and startup in Automation Mode.

Is there any way to capture an image off these target SUSE Linux machines without requiring a server restart ??

Shalom,

There is a build in to many linux distributions.

Hit Print Screen twice in succession.

You get a savable,usable screen shot.

No reboot either.

Hi,

No I don't believe there is.

I've not used Rapid Deployment Pack (RDP) with Linux, but even with Windows an image capture shut the machine down to the Automation mode in order to grab the image of the machine.

I guess that's the safest way of getting a stable snapshot of the machine. If it were done with the OS up, you'd have the potential for locked files etc.
