Usually the distribution can be downloaded as single DVD iso image.

5 linux CD will obviously exceed the size of 1 CD.
Shalom,

single DVD?

Thats not supported. RH releases FC 6 in DVD form, so its theoretically possible.

You may have to work with the source and build the ISO yourself.

Got nothing better to do? Go for it.

The first Cd of the install set can be used to connect to an NFS server for installation, negating the need for the other cd's. I rarely bother to produce actual cd's for anything other than the first cd.

SEP

With Suse I think you'll find its easy.
Copy all your CDs into one directory, then make an ISO image.

With RedHat, its a little different. Copy all the CDs into one dir. Then you need to edit .discinfo and change the line where it says

1

to

1,2,3,4,5

eg mine looks like this:

1154571873.955774
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4
x86_64
1,2,3,4,5
RedHat/base
RedHat/RPMS
RedHat/pixmaps

then make your ISO image. Don't forget that you'll need to burn this to a DVD - it won't all fit on a CD.

This link covers it nicely:

http://linux.ittoolbox.com/groups/technical-functional/redhat-l/how-can-i-make-rhel50-dvd-bootable-1132579#

Colin.
