Hi All,

We use HP Secure path in conjunction with our storage solution. We ar embarking on a major Linux upgrade to the 2.6 kernel from 2.4 and I was wondering if anyone know if secure-path will become availbale for 2.6 or where the source code is so I can compile for 2.6 Kernel.

Thanks in advance.

Depending on what version of the 2.6 you want to run and what your demands are, you want might to consider using the open source package "multipath" in combination with device-mapper.

I believe it does not support Active/Active load balancing yet, but failover (Active/Standby) works perfectly. It might be a cheaper option for you as it is already commercially supported by Novell (SLES-10) and Red Hat (RHES/RHAS 4U2 & greater).
Heironimus is correct. SecurePath is not available for the 2.6 kernel.

The multipath functionality delivered with the QLogic and Emulex drivers is supported. Use the HP versions of these drivers.

Device Mapper is available and the HP doc on using it (as well as support statements I believe) is at: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&ct=res&cd=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fh20000.www2.hp.com%2Fbc%2Fdocs%2Fsupport%2FSupportManual%2Fc00814876%2Fc00814876.pdf%3FHPBCMETA%3A%3Adoctype%3Dfile&ei=6elJRpK0GqawggPokIGgCw&usg=AFrqEzcBSAfizuOb66quICpiMxZaQWepjw&sig2=mTFGEGRfnkPF_d9IuBqIeA

Be aware that this doc says "Device
Mapper Multipath for mission critical applications".

Regards
