hi

I cannot backup linux DEBIAN SARGE server
with SYMANTEC GHOST Version 8.2

I've done an image over LAN, restored the image to the same hardware,
but the restored server wont start.

during the server start I get only the message GRUB on the screen
and the server stops with this message.

it seems to be a big problem with GRUB,
but Symantec Ghost 8.x does support GRUB according to Symantec.

knows someone howto solve this problem ?

kind regards
chris

Some of the engineers where I work have encountered this problem.

They say by reinstalling or reconfiguring grub the problem may go away. I don't know how to do this.

There has been some hardware that would not work with Norton Ghost. You may own it.

I can't be more specific at this time.

SEP

In order to avoid GRUB reinstallation problem you have to create GHOST boot diskette with -id option or choose it in GHOST option tab (options--> IMAGE/TAPE----IMAGE DISK switch ).
