    <description>Thansk Steven, but that is not what I am referring to.  I need a log like rc.log that shows all applications started up /shutdown as the system goes through different run levels.</description>

      <description>Shalom Wilfred,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The messages you would normally find in rc.log are found in /var/log/messages&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The format and detail is not the same, but thats where the critical stuff is.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP</description>

      <description>Try either the output of 'dmesg', or the content of '/var/log/boot.log'.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If all that isn't so good, look at 'initlog', and logging syslog's local7.* somewhere (usually boot.log).</description>
