DL380G4 Won't book from CD

Hi,

I'm having a very odd issue with a DL380G4. It want to install Windows on a box and configured the CD to be first in the boot order. Although during the boot up, the box ignores the CD. the only way I managed to get it to work was via a USB CD drive. Any ideas what it could be?

hai !

It is required to change the sequence of booting order in cmos/bios setup(1st boot dev must be cdrom) while booting the system.

Hello.

I've just double checked that, it's already position one off the boot up but it still goes direct to the Hard Disk.

you can try to do this way to isolate the problem.
just disconnect the power of hard disk and boot . see what is happening
or else interchange the data cable of CDram and HDD. probaly device' jumpers may be conflict

Thanks, it looks like it's a fault with the cable, one of the pins is bent.
