How to install Linux RHEL on HP Compaq dx7200

have IDE ATA/ATAPI hard disk
i am trying to install Red hat EL 3.0
but it saying no hard disk not found
My machine name is "HP Compaq dx7200"
so how could i install Linux RHEL 3.0 in my machine ??
any suggestion ??

Shalom,

Use RH 3 update 7 or 8 because it has the latest hardware support.

You may have issues with the video card, this is quite common on compaq machines. If so, you may be forced touse RH 4 update 4.

it seems that your problem related to SATA, not ATA disk.

I think is better install RHEL 4.
It have more updated driver.

are you sure for 100% that you have IDE disk? Does BIOS see this disk?

yes, i have IDE ATA/ATAPI.
If u want more clerification just check for HP Compaq dx7200 config .

try to use BIOS setting recommended by Seervice Reference guide http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00494585/c00494585.pdf for linux (page 4-5)
