I'm pretty certain you cannot download these CDs from HP.

There is not SLES 9.1. There is, I believe, a SLED 9.1. I think (hope) that is a typo.

My info show that SLES9 has 6 disks in the base and 3 disks for SP3. The 6 disks you found on Novell's site may be the SLES9 base I am referring to.

If you post some of the MD5s you are talking about then I or someone else may have more info to help.
Downloading SLES 9.1 from HP?

Hi there,

We have a dozen or so DL360s, all running SLES 9.1 SP3. We got the OS CDs from HP, with the servers themselves. There are 6 discs: 4 for SLES 9.1 itself, and 2 for SP3.

We now need to be able to tell partners exactly where to download these CD images from. Novell's site only has links to a 6-disc version of SLES 9, which does not contain any discs in common with the ones we received from HP (none of the MD5 sums match).

So: can the images for the CDs we received with our DL360s be download anywhere?

Thank you!

Thanks for the reply!

You are correct about the "9.1" - we have simply SLES 9.

Could you point me to the section of HP's website where I can download SLES 9? I found all the software and firmware to run on SLES 9 on a DL 360 G4p, but not the OS itself.

As I had said at the beginning of my other post, I pretty certain that you cannot download from HP.

If you bought the bits from HP, support should be able to help you find the place on teh Novell site to download.

Also, if you have the CDs there are tools that will take the CD and create ISOs. Don't have the info at my fingertips but anotehr post would probably work.

Sorry, I read that as "I'm pretty certain you can download them from HP"...

Anyway, I'm double-checking that the MD5 sums don't match.

Also, in case it helps anyone else... to create an image of a CD in linux:

dd if=/dev/cdrom of=image.iso bs=1024k

When the command is complete, "image.iso" will be an ISO image of the disc that was in the device "/dev/cdrom" at the time.

Thanks for your help!

Shalom,

Suse is a product of Novell, not HP. I'm sure the CD's you recieved with your servrs originated from Novell and thats where you should get the media.

If they must have the same media, then copy the cd's.

SEP
