I have a XW9400 with two SAS 73 GB HDDs, which are not detected under Red Hat WS 3 Linux. I have updated the bios to the latest one. I have even tried to install Linux on just one hard disk connected, but not even one disk is detected. I have tried different distributions of linux but with the same result, even the disk was replaced with the same result. Is there any other program that I can use to detect this drive?

Probably the linux kernel don't have the storage controller module (driver) to detect the disks.

You can obtain drivers from here:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?prodNameId=3211287〈=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=3211286&taskId=135

See the included documentation for information about how to use them.

Can you see the disks at the BIOS level? It maybe that you have to update the configuration and re-save in order for it to become active. This happens particularly with Adaptec SCSI controllers when you are trying to build a machine with no IDE.
