I am new to this so please bear with me.

I have a ds10/xp900 alphaserver that we have recently taken out of service.
It was running Unix.
We had disposed of all terminals etc that went with this server. We own the server and I would like to run Linux on it.
I have installed a video card in the 32 bit pci slot. I have hooked up keyboard and mouse, when I boot shows bios screen for video card then screen goes blue with flashing dot at top left corner.

My question is this, how do I boot computer with only monitor, mouse & keyboard. I would like to get to bios so i can load red hat Linux 8.0. If I cannot do this how can I connect to server with a pc running Windows.

Have tried to diasble RMC with jumper.

Thank you in advance for all your consideration

Ron

Connect a terminal again and in the SRM prompt type:

>>> set console graphics

Then you can boot using VGA.
